Dr. Ang founded his Aesthetic practice in 1998, introducing the term Aesthetic or Esthetic Medicine into the local lexicology when he became a member of the Belgium Society of Esthetic Medicine and International Union of Esthetic Medicine in the same year. Dr. Ang graduated from the medical school at the National University of Singapore in 1987. He continued to pursue his postgraduate training at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology, St Thomas’s Hospital from 1993 to 1994.
His practice interests include cosmetic dermatology, anti-ageing medicine and bariatric (slimming) medicine.
He passed the American Board of Bariatric Medicine (written and clinical) Exams in 2002. The Board is now known as the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
Dr. Ang was a part-time clinical teacher at the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore from 2000 to 2010.
Previously Dr. Ang was a member of the Beauty Task Force set up by the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) to look into beauty practices in Singapore.
Dr. Ang was also a trainer in Botulinum injections for Singapore doctors. He also trained beauticians and estheticians at the Top to Toe College of Beauty, helping to develop the course syllabus in early 1995.
Dr. Ang has worked in the top management of various hospitals including Singapore General Hospital, Changi General Hospital, National Cancer Centre and the now defunct Toa Payoh Hospital.
